About Timothy L. Williams
Tim Williams is an attorney and founder of Williams, Knack & Burrows, P.C. Tim’s practice is focused on assisting business owners with a full range of business law solutions, including setting up business entities, contracts, protecting business identity and goodwill, brands, trademarks, service-marks and copyrights, and intellectual property. Tim has extensive experience and expertise in assisting clients with tax favored transactions, including buying and selling businesses, mergers, acquisitions, and business split ups. Tim has an additional law degree in tax law and is licensed to practice before the federal courts and the IRS. Tim assists individuals and companies with IRS and State tax disputes. Tim assists business owners and families with estate planning, probate, and tax issues. As an active member of the Livingston County community, Tim has been a member of the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club since 2005; Tim is chairperson of the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Foundation, a community wide charitable foundation. Tim is a member of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce and the Howell Chamber of Commerce; Tim is also a member of the Oak Pointe Country Club. In addition, Tim is a consistent supporter of and contributor to events for the Gleaners Community Food Bank, United Way, Reaching Higher, the Salvation Army and The Youth Connection – Connection House.
Tim Williams is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Taxation and Labor Sections) and is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in Michigan. Tim is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court, the Federal Courts in Ohio and Wisconsin, and the Internal Revenue Service.
